Screenwriter Wanted

Is this the first pope?
The Skeptics Post has been asked by the author of On This Rock to help him find a screenwriter to turn his novel into a movie script. It's probably not going to be an easy task, the book is relatively long and has a complicated plot so not just any screenwriter will do, you will need a good work ethic and it would be great if you really like the subject matter. So, if you enjoy a good conspiracy theory and can devote some serious time to getting a script done in a timely manner please get in touch with us.
The book takes a look at the rather complicated history of the Vatican but the story, for the most part, takes place in the present. The story doesn't put the Vatican in a very good light but it's done in a way that doesn't seem especially mean spirited. It's really no different than what Dan Brown did to Christianity in general by essentially making the claim that Christianity was a hoax because the Jesus of the Bible was not what he claimed and that he had a wife and at least one child. On This Rock takes a similar look at the controversial claim made by the Catholic Church that they are the one true church because, they claim, Jesus said he would build His church on Peter and made Peter the first pope. The theory put forth by On This Rock is interesting because, unlike the plot of The DaVinci Code, this theory has more than a grain of truth behind it, for instance, what if Peter wasn't the first pope? There's more than a little evidence that Peter never even saw the city of Rome so how could he have been there founding a church? What is interesting is that there was another man there with a similar name who did found a church and he called it a Catholic Church, that is a fact and not open to discussion. It's in the earliest history books. What if the spirit of that first church is alive and well and operating out of the Vatican as a sort of secret church within a church?
That is the basis of the novel which is why any screenwriter who takes it on would have to have a love of conspiracies and controversies and would have to be willing to put in some serious time writing it. The author is willing to assist you if you'd like or, providing the author is comfortable with you, you could work on your own. It certainly wouldn't be easy but on the other hand the story is there, you won't have any writer's block issues, it just needs to be put in the form of a screenplay.
We think a movie based on this book would be a blockbuster, an extremely commercial film but at the same time would have people thinking. Hollywood could certainly use something new instead of the stuff they've been doing lately. They haven't come up with a new idea in a long time, they are reduced to making movies based on old comic books and relying on special effects to bring in moviegoers. We know this is a long shot, but nothing good ever happened without people taking a chance and doing things that couldn't be done.
So...if you are interested...and are willing to put in some hard work please get in touch with us here at the Skeptics Post and we will happily put you in touch with Dave Leonard. He only asks that you read the book before you get in touch, there really won't be much to talk about if you don't have a good understanding of the material before you meet.
This book has most of the ingredients needed to be huge commercial success as a film, the only thing missing is a really talented screenwriter, it might be you. Nobody involved thinks for a minute this will be easy or a sure thing but if you'd like to work on something with some serious potential we want to talk to you.
